The agreement was signed at Euroleague Basketball headquarters by the competition's CEO, Chus Bueno, and UEBO President Sreten Radovic. The meeting was also attended by UEBO Board Member Sefi Shemesh and Euroleague officials. The renewed agreement will remain in effect through the end of the 2028–29 season.

The extension comes following a series of productive discussions aimed at aligning the operational framework with the competition's growth, the evolving role of officials, and the latest technological advancements in officiating. The agreement outlines the principles, working conditions, and mutual obligations for referees across both the EuroLeague and EuroCup.

Euroleague CEO Chus Bueno highlighted the crucial role officials play within the entire competition framework.

"Referees are a fundamental pillar of the Euroleague Basketball ecosystem, and our relationship with the UEBO is essential to ensuring that officiating continues to evolve in step with our competitions. This renewed agreement reflects our commitment to maintaining an open, constructive dialogue with our officials and providing the professional framework, resources, and technology they need to perform at the highest level."

Sreten Radovic underlined the stability guaranteed by this new agreement.

"Renewing this agreement marks an important step forward in the ongoing development of the relationship between UEBO and Euroleague Basketball. It provides stability and a clear framework for our referees, while allowing us to continue working together on the evolution of officiating, working conditions, and the tools available to our officials. We appreciate the constructive dialogue throughout the negotiations and look forward to continuing this collaboration."

The initial collective bargaining agreement between Euroleague Basketball and the UEBO was signed in 2019 and previously renewed in 2023. Since its inception, it has served as the foundation for governing working conditions, continuously refining officiating standards, and implementing modern technology to assist referees on the court.

Alongside existing frameworks with the EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) and the recently signed agreement with the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board (EHCB), this deal with the referees further solidifies alignment between league leadership and key stakeholders as the competition enters a new phase of growth.
