Organizers announce exit of President, Martin Fayomi

Pulse Nigeria has just received information about the exit of the current President of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA).

The board of directors of the NEA revealed in a statement the immediate departure of Martin Fayomi from the organization.

“Martin helped lead NEA Awards during the transition period when I stepped down as president and we value his contributions during this period” said Tope Esan, ex-president and board member.

“He led the company through some important times and helped create some important partnerships. All of us wish Martin the best in his future endeavours.”

Fayomi took up the position of president and chief executive officer when Esan stepped down in 2014. Following this, Esan remained an executive producer in the organization alongside, Cosmas “Cos Canino” Collins and Azeem Jolasun.

The board of directors of the company are yet to disclose who the new President is or will be. In the interim Esan, Collins and Jolasun, all share the responsibilities.

The 10th edition of the 2015 NEA Awards took place at the Skirball Centre in New York on September 6, 2015.

“We are excited about what the future holds for the NEA brand,” said Collins.

Collins has been on the NEA board for the past 10 years. According to a statement released by the organization, he will serve as production project lead for future editions of NEA Awards starting with the next edition of the Awards in summer of 2016.

“Coming off our successful 10th edition and with the fresh new ideas that came out from the board meeting, NEA Awards is preparing to take the event to another level,” Jolasun said in a statement.

It has been disclosed that he will serve as business development lead for NEA Awards.
