While fans of Belgrade's eternal rivals, Crvena Zvezda and Partizan, eagerly await to see if their respective managements will react to this bombshell, the player himself isn't shy about where he sees his career heading next.

“I want to play 'overseas' for a year. I want that experience. To dominate against those guys across the water,” Thomas posted on the social media platform "X," prompting an immediate reaction from the official EuroLeague account.

The comments section beneath the post erupted into chaos. Ofer Yanay, the controversial owner of Hapoel Tel Aviv, sarcastically suggested that Thomas would be an "excellent reinforcement for EuroCup teams." Meanwhile, many basketball enthusiasts advised him to choose Puerto Rico or Australia, emphasizing that it would be much easier there because "defense isn't played like in Europe."

Isaiah Thomas boasts one of the most unconventional stories in the NBA. The Sacramento Kings selected him as the very last pick, 60th overall, in the 2011 draft.

Despite his height (5'9"), he developed into one of the league's most prolific scorers. He delivered his best performances in Boston, and also played for the Cavaliers, Lakers, Nuggets, Wizards, Pelicans, Mavericks, and Hornets.

He has been without a team since 2025, when he last played for the Utah Jazz's G-League affiliate.
