- He died from the effects of heroin and cocaine use. He combined these two drugs with several prescription medications available at regular pharmacies. His death is officially classified as an accidental overdose, according to the California Post report.

He had legal troubles but was also a philanthropist

On April 1st, Clark was arrested in Cross County, Arkansas, on charges of possession and trafficking of illegal substances, fleeing in a vehicle at excessive speed, and improper overtaking. He was released on bail the following day.

In 2025, he launched the Brandon Clark Foundation with the goal of assisting families affected by tragedy, mothers, and other Memphis residents. The foundation has since donated funds to the non-profit organization “ARise2Read,” which helps children improve literacy.

Clark also hosted a holiday celebration at the Buckman Boys & Girls Club, where his foundation provided families with food, gifts, games, and presented a donation.

- Every time I get a chance to talk to kids, I try to instill in them that school and teachers are important, and grades matter, Clark stated at the time. - I wouldn't have gotten to where I am if I hadn't dedicated myself to reading, writing, and all those things.

Before joining the Grizzlies, the Canadian center played his collegiate career at San Jose State and Gonzaga. Alongside Ja Morant, Clark was one of the longest-tenured players on the Memphis squad.
