NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum and George Aivazoglou, the league's Senior Vice President and Head of Europe and the Middle East, attended the European Club Association's annual general assembly in Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Per the report, the two senior NBA executives were spotted holding private discussions with representatives from Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

All five clubs are being linked with the "NBA Europe" project, even though PSG and Milan do not currently have active basketball sections.

This development comes just days before another potentially defining milestone for the future of European basketball.

EuroLeague shareholders are scheduled to meet in Italy on October 5, where the "NBA Europe" initiative is expected to take center stage.

The Athletic reports that EuroLeague stakeholders will evaluate proposals from the NBA regarding a potential takeover and merger into the new competition.

The NBA's pitch for a potential partnership has already been submitted to the EuroLeague, according to multiple reports, while NBA Commissioner Adam Silver recently confirmed that dialogue between the two entities remains ongoing.

In parallel, the EuroLeague has been developing its own expansion framework and permanent franchise system.

Speaking at the ECA assembly, Tatum reiterated that "NBA Europe" is projected to feature 16 teams, 12 of which would be permanent members.
