Philadelphia received a massive boost on Friday with LeBron James' decision to join them for the next two years, chasing another NBA championship. But before that journey even begins, they're set to add another significant piece to their roster.

Two-time NBA champion Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who secured a title with the Denver Nuggets in 2023, is reportedly on the verge of signing with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Caldwell-Pope, a 33-year-old who can play both shooting guard and small forward, spent last season with the Memphis Grizzlies. His season was cut short due to surgery on his right pinky finger.

In 51 games played, he averaged 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, shooting 41% from the field and 31.6% from three-point range.

Bronny James Not Joining LeBron

LeBron James' influence seemingly transcends the NBA itself. Commissioner Adam Silver publicly stated that the league was awaiting LeBron's decision to finalize the season schedule, a decision that came on Friday.

James opted to continue his career in Philadelphia, signing a two-year, eight-million-dollar contract. This move appears to be his last two chances to secure another NBA title.

As LeBron's move sent ripples through the NBA, questions arose about his son, Bronny. He appears to be on a different path, neither of which leads to his father's new team.

LeBron's heir apparent has a guaranteed contract with the Lakers, suggesting he'll start the season with them.

However, the Lakers are still reportedly pursuing Jonathan Kuminga, and Bronny could potentially be part of a trade package that sends him to the Atlanta Hawks. In any scenario mentioned, the 76ers are not listed as his destination.

Last season, Bronny averaged 2.7 points and 1.1 assists in 69 games for the Lakers.
