According to information obtained by "Eurohoops," a new meeting between the EuroLeague and the NBA is on the horizon. There's a glimmer of hope that a historic agreement could be reached between the two leagues. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has expressed his desire to collaborate with the EuroLeague, and the EuroLeague's new CEO, Chus Bueno, has also extended an olive branch to Silver.

The NBA Europe project is slated to commence in 2027, but it remains to be seen whether it will launch independently or in cooperation with the EuroLeague. Meanwhile, the EuroLeague board is scheduled to convene on April 14th to decide on potential expansion and a new format for the upcoming season.

Should the NBA and FIBA find common ground, a league featuring as many as 24 teams could be formed. Such an agreement might signal the end of a decades-long rift between ULEB and FIBA, which has persisted since the late 1990s. However, the hatchet could be buried as early as 2026.
