The Spanish rider was absent from the Red Bull Ring after tests in Barcelona revealed "altered parameters" in his blood. The search for the cause of these "altered parameters" is ongoing, and in the meantime, Mir has been advised by MotoGP doctor Dr. Angel Charte and the medical team in Barcelona to rest for the next 15 days.

Consequently, he will miss the upcoming two rounds in Japan (October 2-4) and Indonesia (October 9-11). Honda will announce who will replace the Spaniard at Motegi and Mandalika at a later date.

Last weekend in Austria, Takaaki Nakagami stepped in for Mir, finishing 13th in the race. The Japanese rider is scheduled to participate with a wildcard entry at his home race in Motegi, after which Honda will likely want him to focus on developing the new 850cc engine for the 2027 season.
