Is being an artist natural or does this skill take nurturing? Peju Alatise says, “It’s a lot of both, I don’t think you can separate either”.

On her episode of the My Africa podcast, the visual artist said: “To be genuine, to be true, it has to be a part of you and it’s something that you continuously nurse. It something you have to keep improving on.

"You’re never just great, you have to keep working at being great”, she added.

The visual artist and gender activist sits down with Andre Blaze Henshaw to tell her story. She shares what it was like growing up in a large family, her outlook on art and gender, and her relationship with her late father.
