Popular awards to hold this year, July 18

MTV Base has announced that the fifth edition of the () will hold this year.

The MAMA returns to the (ICC), KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on Saturday, July 18, 2015.

The announcement was made earlier today by , who said, “We are thrilled that the will be returning to Durban and KwaZulu-Natal on 18 July, a date famous for being the birthday of Nelson Mandela - what better day could there be for staging this inspirational celebration of African achievement and creativity that showcases Africa’s best talent on the world stage.”

Nominations for the MAMA will be announced on June 18, 2015 and will span 17 categories. They are:

6.     Best Collaboration

7.     Best Hip Hop

8.     Best Alternative

9.     Best Francophone

10.    Best Lusophone

17.    MTV Base Leadership Award
