The news that Toprak Razgatlioglu will miss the remainder of the MotoGP season means the premier class campaign will conclude with just a single race featuring all 22 full-time riders on the grid.
That sole event was the second round of the year, held at the Ayrton Senna circuit in Goiania, Brazil. Every other race has seen at least one permanent rider sidelined, a trend now guaranteed to continue until the end of the campaign.
Maverick Viñales has missed the most races so far this season, sitting out a total of seven rounds to focus on recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained last summer. Johann Zarco has missed six grands prix following his crash in Catalunya, while Marc Marquez, Marco Bezzecchi, Ai Ogura, Alex Marquez, Fermin Aldeguer, and Joan Mir have also spent time on the sidelines.
Bezzecchi is the only rider to miss a race through suspension rather than injury. That occurred at the Czech Grand Prix, where the Aprilia rider struck a marshal following a crash in the sprint race and was handed a ban from the main Sunday race at Brno.
