With Honda finally announcing how it will allocate Diogo Moreira and David Alonso between its two teams for the 2027 season, the full MotoGP starting grid for the beginning of the new 850cc era has now been finalized.
The grid will once again feature 22 riders, five of whom will be rookies. There are major shake-ups across the field, with only five riders remaining with their current teams over the winter: Marco Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, Marc Marquez, Johann Zarco, and Toprak Razgatlioglu, who stay with Aprilia, Trackhouse Aprilia, Ducati, LCR Honda, and Pramac Yamaha, respectively.
The biggest blockbuster moves are undoubtedly Fabio Quartararo's switch from Yamaha to Honda, Jorge Martin jumping from Aprilia to Yamaha, and Francesco Bagnaia departing Ducati for Aprilia. The five premier-class rookies will be Dani Holgado (Gresini Ducati), Nicolo Bulega (VR46 Ducati), David Alonso (LCR Honda), Senna Agius (Tech3 KTM), and Izan Guevara (Pramac Yamaha).
