The absence of injured Moroccan top scorer Ismael Saibari "changed something in the team," winger Amine Sbai stated after their 2-0 loss to France in the World Cup quarter-finals.

"Saibari's absence changed things; he's a crucial player who had a fantastic start to the tournament. It was a big loss for us, and I hope he returns stronger, as will the entire team," commented the Angers player, as quoted by AFP. Bayern Munich's new signing, Saibari, sustained an injury in the 3-0 match against Canada and was unable to recover.

"We gave everything to win this match and we're sorry we couldn't go further," added Sbai, who came on as a substitute late in the game. "We had the drive and the desire, but the football wasn't what we wanted, and it didn't come off. There were also more technical errors, which is part of the game. What were we missing? It's too early to analyze; we'll do that later. But we lost, and we're disappointed," he concluded.
