Should The Ministry Of Education Harmonize Degree And HND?

A bill by a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has sent to the National Assembly seeking for the harmonization of first degrees and the Higher National Diploma, HND.

Before now, there has been dissenting voices on the dichotomy that has existed with the two qualifications with some seeing the HND as being lesser than a degree and some job seekers have been discriminated against for holding the HND instead of a degree.

The outcry has been on for quite a while and now the Senate is set to debate the bill and if it passes through, then there will be an end to such dichotomy.

So on Morning Teaser today, we ask: should the dichotomy between a first degree and HND be abolished?
