Crystal Palace has reportedly had a verbal offer for midfielder Lamine Camara rejected by French club Monaco. According to BBC Sport, the bid for the 22-year-old Senegalese international was in excess of £35 million. Had the deal gone through, Camara would have become one of the most expensive transfers in the English club's history.
Camara has already earned 49 caps for his national team and featured in this summer's World Cup. He joined Monaco from Metz in 2024 for approximately €15 million (£12.8 million), having moved to France after impressing at several prestigious Senegalese youth academies.
Palace has already brought in four new players this summer. Forward Evan Guessand arrived on loan from Aston Villa, while winger Dwight McNeil joined from Everton in a swap deal involving Brennan Johnson. This week also saw former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu sign on a free transfer.
These additions followed the acquisition of Oscar Mingueza from Celta Vigo.
The Eagles are set to travel to Freiburg for their final pre-season friendly before kicking off their Premier League campaign with an away fixture against Everton on Saturday, August 22nd.
