An investment group, spearheaded by Amit Bhatia (son-in-law of steel magnate and billionaire Lakshmi Mittal) and backed by the Mittal family, is reportedly in talks to acquire a minority stake in Liverpool Football Club. According to the Financial Times, if the deal materializes, it would value the English Premier League club at over $6 billion. The publication, citing its sources, adds that Bhatia has engaged advisors to work on the offer and is actively negotiating with Liverpool's current American owners, Fenway Sports Group.

It's worth noting that the Mittal family previously owned CSKA Sofia years ago.

The report indicates that a potential transaction would push the valuation past $6 billion, making it one of the highest in football history. This pursuit of an agreement underscores the enduring interest in top English football clubs and the global reach of the Premier League.

As of now, there has been no confirmation from Bhatia's side, with sources familiar with the situation clarifying that no agreement has been signed yet, and there's no certainty that a deal will be reached.
