Beauty queen celebrates birthday with kids, awards scholarships
Miss Ambassador For Peace South-West Nigeria 2014/2015, Joseph Serena Amarachukwu, celebrated her birthday with the kids of Makoko, granting scholarships to three of the children.
The beauty queen, who emerged one of the winners of the Miss Ambassador for Peace Beauty Pageant which was held in Ladi hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja in 2014 as the Miss Ambassador For Peace south west, chose to spend her birthday with the kids to show love to them.
"I chose to celebrate my birthday there because I wanted something different and unique. I wanted to spend time with these kids, I wanted to see them have fun to the fullest because they don't get opportunities like that," she said.
She added, "The kids really had fun, there where games, chair dance, snacks, drinks, popcorn, gifts, food, during the event we had a the spelling bee segment where I chose my top 3 and gave them scholarship to further their secondary education in the government schools."
She said she was in full support of kids from the slums getting Education and also believed kids being the leaders or tomorrow.
Serena said, "Education is key in every child's life. The scholarship is to get these brilliant kids on there feet and to also encourage and support them. The kids are Usen Charles, Akpana and Funmilayo."
She's currently working on two major projects; "Peace Education Campaign Tour in south west" and "Peace Summit in the Maximum Prison kirikiri Lagos".
She is currently seeking partnerships to make the projects to a massive success. as I want use it as a medium to reach out to both the young and old most especially the younger generations "kids, teenagers and youths "...
She concluded, "I hope to start up a foundation of my own soon by God's Grace, I want to continue the good works and even do more, reach out to the children of Africa. I'm a fashion lover and would love to own a clothing line soon. To reach out to every kid out there who needs support and love, keep on helping people, making people's lives a peaceful one."
