While the renewal of Arteta's contract, which was set to expire at the end of the current season, was widely anticipated, official confirmation of the agreement between both parties has now been released.

Arteta has been at the helm of the London club since 2019, and in his more than six years with the team, he has successfully guided them back to the pinnacle of English football. The culmination of this resurgence was winning their first Premier League title in 22 years last season.

This season's title defense began with a perfect start for Arteta's squad, but an unexpected 0-3 defeat to Brighton occurred just before the international break. At a press conference prior to that match, when asked about the negotiations, the Spaniard commented: “I think we are all on the same page; when the right moment comes, we will finalize everything. There is no cause for concern.”

As early as May, Arsenal co-chairman Josh Kroenke identified retaining the 44-year-old manager as a top priority. He emphasized Arteta's crucial role in winning the title and in the overall stabilization of the team's performance across all competitions.
