The Mercedes team will run a special livery during this weekend's Grand Prix, set to take place at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

For the Silver Arrows, the upcoming race near Kuala Lumpur acts as a home event of sorts, with Malaysian oil giant PETRONAS serving as the team's title sponsor. PETRONAS's signature turquoise has been a staple on Mercedes cars since 2010.

At Sepang, however, the vibrant hue will take center stage, largely replacing the team's traditional silver finish. Mercedes are essentially swapping the silver and turquoise for the upcoming race weekend in Kuala Lumpur.

The Silver Arrows ran a similar one-off livery at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix to mark PETRONAS's 50th anniversary. With Malaysia absent from the calendar at the time, Mercedes used the closest race to the country to celebrate their long-standing partner's milestone.

The refreshed livery will not be the only novelty on the W17 this weekend, as Mercedes are also expected to debut a substantial upgrade package. It will mark only their second major update package of the season.
