Mbeumo Takes Positives Despite Chelsea Defeat

Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo insisted there is no tension in the dressing room following their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea. The Cameroon international's comments came after defender Lisandro Martínez was sent off and conceded a penalty against the Blues. The defeat extended United's winless run to nine matches across all competitions—their worst spell in 38 years. Martínez was notably the player who publicly criticized the club's board in early October over the lack of summer reinforcements, which coincided with the start of the team's poor run of form.

"We are very disappointed with this result because I think we played well, especially in the first half. Everything looked good—our mindset, our desire. I really felt we were going to win this match," Mbeumo said. "We cannot put the blame on just one player because we are a team. If someone makes a mistake, we have to back them up. When someone performs well, everyone stands with them too. We still believe in one another. Going a man down brought some frustration, but I think we gave everything as a team; we just didn't take our chances. Creating those opportunities is the positive we can take away from this game," the forward added.
