Maxson Vignier: "I'm Training Diligently for SENSHI, It's a Huge Opportunity for Me"
The international fight night SENSHI 31 Gladiators is just days away, set to electrify the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv on May 30th. Among the formidable lineup is French kickboxer Maxson Vignier, a two-time French kickboxing champion and WFMC world champion. Vignier previously competed at SENSHI 28 last year, stepping in at the eleventh hour after the original fighter withdrew due to injury. Despite the minimal preparation, the Frenchman displayed immense grit and an unyielding spirit in the ring, though his opponent, Marian Lapusneanu, ultimately showcased his class and secured the victory.
Vignier's courage, bravery, and fighting spirit earned him the special "Fighting Spirit" award from the organizers of SENSHI 28, a symbol of unwavering determination and the heart of a true warrior.
On May 30th, in the gladiatorial arena of the Ancient Theater, Maxson Vignier will have another chance to face the Romanian fighter as part of the SENSHI Grand Prix championship tournament in the under 70 kg category. In this fiercely contested, direct-elimination lightweight tournament, Vignier must first overcome his opponent in a reserve bout to earn a spot in the main draw. Tickets for the event are available through Eventim.bg.
"I'm training diligently for SENSHI. For me, this is a huge opportunity because I know SENSHI is among the biggest organizations in the world," Vignier stated in an interview for the "Bulgaria Morning" show.
He revealed that he is preparing intensely for SENSHI 31 Gladiators, undertaking 8-9 training sessions per week. Vignier mentioned he will face a tough Polish opponent, Viktor Kolaya, and is eager to step into the ring against him. He will compete in one of the reserve bouts of the SENSHI Grand Prix tournament.
"My opponent's height and style are important, whether he plays offensively or defensively – that will influence our approach and fight plan," the kickboxer shared with Bulgaria ON AIR television.
Vignier disclosed to viewers that he doesn't have a specific pre-fight ritual, but he prefers to keep quiet. "I listen to music. It's important to maintain the same routine for preparation as you do in training. The coach's role is very crucial. I have the opportunity to showcase my talent," he added.
