Croatian international Igor Matanovic has spoken out about the disallowed goal against Portugal in stoppage time during their World Cup Round of 16 clash.
The "Vatreni" suffered a 2-1 defeat after scoring a goal in the 13th minute of added time, only for it to be chalked off by head referee Espen Eskas following a VAR review. The reason cited was an offside call against Mario Pasalic. In the play, Matanovic was battling for a high ball in the penalty area before it reached Pasalic.

"I felt a slight touch with my hair and asked the referee what had happened. I wasn't sure if I had touched the ball," stated Igor Matanovic.
"The referee told me that the chip in the ball indicated I had touched it," the forward added.
