Manchester United will not be signing Atalanta midfielder Ederson, despite earlier reports suggesting the deal was all but done. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the English club has already informed their Italian counterparts of their decision.
Just a month ago, both clubs had reportedly reached an agreement for a transfer valued at €45 million, including add-ons. The Brazilian was expected to sign a four-year contract with an option for an additional year.
The player himself had also stated that he had agreed terms with the "Red Devils," but it now appears the transfer is off, as the club's plans at Old Trafford have seemingly changed.
Atalanta is prepared to reintegrate the midfielder into their squad if no other suitable offers for him materialize.
