Manchester United launch fan consultation on design of new 100,000-seater stadium
Manchester United are pressing ahead with ambitious plans to build a new 100,000-capacity stadium, inviting supporters to have their say on its future design.
The Red Devils' project took a major step forward following the acquisition of an additional land parcel earlier this year, giving architectural firm Foster + Partners the green light to advance design work.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already expressed his satisfaction with the initial concepts presented over the past year for the club's new home. However, the design process remains in its early stages, with club chiefs keen to gather fan feedback before finalizing any proposals.
Manchester United have launched an extensive fan survey focusing on several key areas:
Creating a world-class facility and an unforgettable matchday experience
Club heritage and traditions
Stadium atmosphere
The surrounding footprint and wider club campus
Transport connectivity and accessibility
The club also plan to run a series of focus groups with supporters from diverse backgrounds to examine key concepts in greater detail. As the project progresses, fans will be consulted on further vital issues, including ticket pricing, accessibility, and the overall football experience.
"The proposed new stadium is one of the most significant undertakings Manchester United will embark on in the next 100 years, and it is vital we build it together with our supporters," said Collette Roche, Chief Operating Officer and stadium project lead. "This is a home designed primarily for them, so every detail matters. We are committed to an open dialogue to ensure fans are part of shaping the atmosphere, accessibility, and the heritage that makes Old Trafford so special. Since 2024, we have seen genuine excitement from our supporters, though we understand there are natural questions and concerns. By working together, we can create a world-class stadium that drives success on the pitch, preserves our club identity, and makes future generations proud."
The survey is open to season ticket holders, cup scheme members, official club members, hospitality guests over the past three seasons, and those on the waiting list. Supporters who have opted out of marketing communications can also take part using their unique supporter ID.
The survey will remain open until Friday, 6 November.
