Manchester United are weighing up a January move for England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Leeds United, according to The Athletic. The 29-year-old striker has been on the club's radar for some time, though convincing Leeds to sell will be far from straightforward.

With just 10 goals in their opening eight Premier League fixtures, a lack of cutting edge has taken its toll on the 16th-placed side. Benjamin Sesko is the squad's only natural centre-forward and remains sidelined through injury until January. As a result, his role has been filled by Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and even Bruno Fernandes as a makeshift false nine.

Coincidentally, Calvert-Lewin netted Leeds' only goal in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United in gameweek seven.

Calvert-Lewin's experience and impressive form are highly valued at Old Trafford. The forward registered 15 goals last season—his best return since scoring 21 in 2019/20—and already has four to his name this campaign for a Leeds side sitting comfortably in seventh place. Consequently, tempting Leeds to part with their starting striker will not be an easy task, the report notes.

Leeds are even contemplating extending the forward's deal, having signed him to a three-year contract in 2025 following his free transfer from Everton. Any prospective switch to Old Trafford in January will ultimately hinge on the size of Man United's offer for the striker, who is valued at €25 million by Transfermarkt.
