Manchester City has announced the signing of goalkeeper Pierce Charles from Sheffield Wednesday. The 20-year-old shot-stopper returns to the Citizens on a five-year deal until the summer of 2031 and will immediately be loaned out to fellow Championship side Queens Park Rangers for the upcoming season. Charles, who has represented Northern Ireland internationally, is a product of Manchester City's academy and is now effectively making a comeback to the Etihad. The transfer fee for the player has not been disclosed, but Sky Sports reports that City will pay around £3 million for the goalkeeper's services.
