Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has expressed his unwavering confidence that the club will prove its innocence regarding the 115 Premier League charges, following reports on Friday that an independent commission had found the club guilty on all but one count.

It is now clear that the Etihad club intends to appeal the commission's initial decision. Here's what the Manchester City chairman had to say on the pressing matter.

“Our confidence and determination to prove the club's innocence are as strong as they were from the very beginning.”

Describing his stance on the situation, Al Mubarak addressed City supporters: “Following the media reports on Friday, many of you likely spent your evening answering questions and messages from friends, family, and colleagues. I did too. Here’s what I told my family: The Premier League process still has a long way to go, and our confidence and determination to prove the club's innocence are as strong as they were from the very beginning.

There's so much I'd like to share with you to help you understand why we feel so confident in our position. However, the strict confidentiality of the legal process and our commitment to upholding it mean I cannot do so at this time. Even this letter underwent several legal reviews to ensure compliance,” he added.

Al Mubarak then directed readers to the statement the club issued on Friday in response to the latest reports, as well as the position published in February 2023, when City was first accused of over 100 alleged breaches of the Premier League's financial rules.

He also insisted that the situation remains unchanged.

“While some were quick to jump to their own conclusions and there's a lot of noise around us, nothing has changed. We have faced challenges together before and emerged victorious. There are still many who wish to undermine our club's momentum. We will not give them that opportunity,” he stated.

“Exciting times lie ahead after this international break. In two weeks, we travel to Anfield, and then we host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium – moments that give us the opportunity to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family.

Thank you, as always, for your unwavering support.”
