Pajola is set to replace Nick Calathes and will also serve as an adequate replacement for Carlik Jones. His defensive prowess is his most notable quality. At Virtus, he played under Aleksandar Đorđević, alongside teammates Stefan Marković and Miloš Teodosić. He has twice won the Serie A championship, claimed the Italian Supercup three times, and was named the best defender in the Italian league on two occasions. He also boasts titles in the FIBA Champions League and the EuroCup.

Last season, Pajola averaged 4.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game in Europe's elite competition. Meanwhile, several players have departed Humsku, including Dwayne Washington, Nick Calathes, Sterling Brown, Isaac Bonga, Dylan Osetkowski, Aleksa Radanov, and Bruno Fernando.
