Traditionally, the Monaco Grand Prix is known for having the fewest overtakes in a Formula 1 season.

However, that won't be the case in 2026, as yesterday's Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid recorded fewer successful overtakes than the race in the Principality earlier in June. The Spanish capital saw only 4 successful maneuvers compared to 10 in Monaco, placing the 'Madring' circuit last in this ranking.

For comparison, excluding the races in Monaco and Madrid, no other race this year has had fewer than 47 successful overtakes, a figure recorded in Hungary. The most overtakes were registered in China (101), when the regulations were still the original ones for the season, not the revised ones that came into effect from Miami, which saw 88 overtakes. The Italian Grand Prix takes third place with 78.
