Luka Doncic on Fame in Los Angeles: It Is More Draining Than Truly Rewarding
LA Lakers star guard Luka Doncic opened up candidly about life in the bright lights of the Californian metropolis, admitting that the intense scrutiny from the media and fans in Los Angeles can often take its toll.
"Obviously, I've gotten used to it to some degree, but it still feels strange. Everything around me used to be on a much smaller scale, but Los Angeles is completely different—everything here is massive. I would say that when you're this famous, it tends to drain you rather than bring true fulfillment," Doncic shared.
Asked whether his celebrity status makes him feel uncomfortable, the Slovenian smiled and replied:
"To an extent, yeah, that's how I'd put it... Yeah, definitely. But all I've ever really wanted was just to play basketball, and fame is simply an inevitable part of the package."
