After just seven La Liga rounds, Barcelona already holds a six-point lead over José Mourinho's Real Madrid. The Catalan giants have showcased impressive form, netting 31 goals, while "Los Blancos" have already suffered two defeats – against Real Betis and Atlético Madrid. Luís Figo, who played for both clubs, praised Barcelona's start to the season.

"They've started very strongly. They're winning, playing well, and scoring goals," he stated in an interview with "Radio Marca."

The former Portuguese footballer, who famously left the Catalan club to join Real Madrid, believes Barcelona's strong performance elevates La Liga's status. "For Spanish football, this is, of course, good, but we need to see how the season unfolds, as it's very long," the Portuguese clarified.

Despite their disappointing start, Figo is confident Real Madrid will stabilize.

"I'm sure Real Madrid will fight until the very end. This is a competition where you need to be consistent until May. There will be ups and downs throughout the season," analyzed the 53-year-old former player, who highlighted the key for "the Kings" to contend for the La Liga title: "When there are dips, you need to possess the maturity and also the quality to overcome them and move forward."

Figo, the 2000 Ballon d'Or winner, also commented on the individual award, which will be presented on October 26th in London. "I don't vote, so I don't have that problem on my mind," noted the Portuguese, who praised Mbappé, one of the candidates alongside Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal: "He is always at a very high level. We are used to him being one of the best in the world, scoring goals."
