Luis Enrique: My Dream is to Have 20 Players Who Can Play in All Positions

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has expressed his desire for his players to be versatile enough to play in any position on the field. “Players love to play in one position, but my dream is to have 20 footballers who can play in all positions,” the Spaniard stated.

In Achraf Hakimi's absence, Enrique deployed Warren Zaïre-Emery as a right-back. Nuno Mendes has also featured in several different roles, and the coach frequently rotates his attacking lineup. “Nuno Mendes as a full-back, Nuno Mendes as a winger, Nuno Mendes as a number 9. Excluding goalkeepers, it would be a dream for my players to be able to play in all positions. Imagine the opposing coach seeing a lineup where the players can play anywhere,” Luis Enrique shared.

PSG faces Toulouse tomorrow and then Liverpool next week in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final. The coach confirmed no new injuries following the international break and added that Fabián Ruiz's condition is improving. A decision on his availability for tomorrow's match will be made after today's training session. Bradley Barcola, however, will miss the first leg against Liverpool.

“Tomorrow we start with Toulouse. We need to win to show we are ready, because Lens is having an incredible season. Will Barcola be available for the return leg against Liverpool? I don't know. I can't give you that information. We can't rush Bradley Barcola. When I speak with him, I will ask him how he feels. We won't rush him. The most important thing is for him to recover well,” Enrique explained.

The Spaniard also commented on reports from “L'Équipe” suggesting he is the highest-paid coach in French football, earning 1 million euros per month: “Do you think the players care what my salary is? I don't think it matters. Of course, I am one of the best-paid coaches in the world. That's great for me.”
