Ludogorets has reached a final agreement with Zamalek for the transfer of central defender Hossam Abdelmaguid, according to reports from his native Egypt. The deal is reportedly worth €1.5 million, with his current club retaining a 20% sell-on clause for any future transfer of the player.

Abdelmaguid was part of his national team at the World Cup. The defender saw minutes against New Zealand and Australia, while remaining an unused substitute in matches against Belgium and Argentina. The "Pharaohs" were eliminated in the Round of 16 by the "Gauchos" after squandering a 2-0 lead.

Given the current registration ban for new players, the departure of the 25-year-old defender will force Zamalek to rely entirely on young talents. Hossam Abdelmaguid is set to become Ludogorets' first new signing.
