Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is reportedly struggling to accept his role as a backup at the club. He has become increasingly withdrawn in the locker room since losing his starting spot to Matvey Safonov, according to RMC Sport.
The 24-year-old Frenchman appears unsociable to his teammates and prefers to communicate with the coaching staff and more experienced colleagues, the source indicates.
It is noted that Safonov is highly likely to confidently secure the position of the club's primary goalkeeper for the remainder of the season, as the Russian is highly valued within the squad.
However, Chevalier's relationship with the coaching staff is reportedly still positive.
Chevalier, who joined PSG in the summer of 2024, last featured on January 23rd in a Ligue 1 match against Auxerre. Safonov has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season, keeping nine clean sheets.
