According to UK Daily Star, the former Barcelona coach will pocket a bonus for restoring United to the European stage.

Europe is vital to United’s commercial business with their sponsorship deals enhanced through playing in the Champions League in particular.
United’s owners – the American-based Glazer family – and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward are known to be delighted with Van Gaal’s impact in his first season at the club.
And the Old Trafford paymasters will be happy to reward their experienced manager if he leads them back to the promised land of the cash-rich Champions League.
