English giants Liverpool are reportedly showing significant interest in Sporting Lisbon striker Luis Suarez, according to Portuguese outlet "Correio da Manhã."
The Colombian international joined the Portuguese club last summer from Almeria and is enjoying an exceptional debut season in Portugal. So far this campaign, Suarez has netted an impressive 33 goals and provided 7 assists in 42 official appearances.
Previously, the Colombian forward's name was linked with a move to Newcastle. However, the latest reports now connect him with Liverpool. The Reds are said to be seriously considering making an offer for Suarez this summer.
In fact, it's entirely possible that Liverpool and Newcastle could enter a direct battle for the talented goalscorer's signature. Suarez's release clause in his contract with Sporting is set at 80 million euros.
