In a season of reboots, 'Lethal Weapon' is the latest film to be remade to a TV series.

Fox Network has decided to turn 'Lethal Weapon,' into a TV show, adding it to the increasing list of movies to be remade to a TV series.

The 1st original Lethal Weapon was released in 1987, and starred Danny Glover as a veteran police officer, and Mel Gibson as his new partner.

Grossing $120 million worldwide, the 1987 movie spawned three sequels in 11 years(1989, 1992 and 1998), grossing a total of $835 million worldwide.

The TV remake which will be written by Matt Miller, will follow a similar storyline to the film.

According to reports, Gibson and Glover will not reprise their original roles.
