A video circulating on social media shows the 39-year-old footballer arriving in a grey minivan at a gated community in Funes, a town on the outskirts of Rosario, where he typically stays when returning to the country.

Messi's return coincides with the health issues of his father, Jorge, who also serves as his agent.

A portion of the Argentine squad, along with head coach Lionel Scaloni and the technical staff, arrived in Buenos Aires on Monday evening. Thousands of fans greeted them, despite official celebrations being canceled. Other players immediately departed for different cities to begin preparations with their club teams.

Messi had an exceptional tournament, scoring eight goals and providing four assists, contributing to dramatic comebacks in matches with Egypt and England, as reported by BTA.
