"After 21 years, it's time to go home. I've decided to stop playing basketball for several reasons, but above all, I want to return home and take care of you. I need to make way for others. My time with the French national team ended two years ago, and now my NBA chapter is closing too. You have to know when it's time to call it a career," said Nicolas Batum.
The French basketball star concluded his career playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, having also played for Le Mans, Portland, Nancy, Charlotte, and Philadelphia.
Batum captained the French national team for many years, leading them to a European Championship title in 2013. He also boasts medals from both the Olympic Games and World Championships.
