Leeds United continues its impressive start to the Premier League season. Daniel Farke's side crushed visiting Newcastle 4-1 in the final match of Week 4, placing them third in the standings with 8 points, trailing only the undefeated Arsenal and Manchester City.
The suspense at Elland Road evaporated before halftime. Lewis Miley scored an own goal in the 32nd minute, immediately followed by Jaden Bogle doubling Leeds' lead. Dominic Calvert-Lewin added another before the break, and Noah Okafor continued the scoring spree in the 59th minute.
Having remained unbeaten in their opening fixtures, Leeds has achieved their best start in English top-flight football in 24 years. Newcastle, meanwhile, languishes in the bottom half of the table with 5 points, and it's becoming increasingly clear they face significant challenges following the departures of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimarães.
In the first half, the Magpies managed only one shot on target against James Trafford. Even after Leeds eased off the throttle in the second half, Matthias Jaissle's team struggled to create clear-cut chances, though substitute Bazoumana Touré did pull one goal back late in the game.
