Charles Leclerc finished fifth in qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix. The Monegasque driver commented after the session that he could have performed slightly better in a few corners, but expressed no regrets about his grid position.

"And fifth. Six milliseconds between you and Lewis," Leclerc's race engineer Bryan Bozzi informed his driver. "Yes, it was achievable, yes, yes. But I didn't put everything together. In turns one and two, the feeling was a bit different compared to Free Practice 3," Charles stated.
"As I mentioned on the radio, it could have been a little better here and there, but hey, that's the situation for everyone on the grid. Especially on a new track. So that's it, I have no regrets," Leclerc continued.
"The race? We'll try to get a good start because overtakes will be tricky. That's why it's so important to get away strongly. I think tire degradation this weekend will be a key factor. Significantly more than we've seen since the start of the year. So we'll need to do a good job on that front as well," Leclerc added.
"I'm not very happy. I think we were only about a tenth and a half off pole position. And considering how important qualifying is here, then yes, the race will probably be tough for us," he explained.

Leclerc also noted that there haven't been too many interruptions in the Formula 1 sessions at the Madrid track so far. He suggested that if this trend continues tomorrow, the race could be quite interesting.
