LeBron James could add another historic achievement to his illustrious resume as early as his first season with his new team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

NBA reporter Evan Sidery noted that James enters the 2026/27 campaign just 27 victories away from surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most regular season wins by a player in league history.

Currently, six-time NBA champion Abdul-Jabbar holds the record with 1,074 career regular season wins, while James has accumulated 1,048.

Another 26 wins would see James tie the six-time NBA champion, and his 27th victory of the season would place him alone at the top.

James is already the NBA's all-time leading scorer and holds several longevity records, having spent over two decades in the league.

Now, he will have the opportunity to surpass Abdul-Jabbar in yet another major statistical category as he begins the final chapter of his career in Philadelphia.

The 41-year-old joined the 76ers after ending his eight-year tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers, signing a two-season deal ahead of his record-setting 24th NBA campaign.

James will play alongside Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown as Philadelphia aims to contend for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and the league.
