The Lakers found themselves without LeBron James on Tuesday, as he announced his departure from Los Angeles, signaling the end of an era. However, just a day after one chapter closed, the Lakers are already embarking on a new one. According to Shams Charania, Walker Kessler is the latest addition to the team.

Kessler is expected to be a significant asset to Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves in the coming years, as the team transitions into a new era without LeBron, who played eight seasons for the Lakers.

This will be Kessler's fifth season in the NBA, having spent his first four with the Utah Jazz. The American center played only five games for Utah last season before undergoing surgery on his left shoulder, which ended his season prematurely. In those five games, he averaged 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds.
