Sunderland has extended Enzo Le Fée's contract. The 26-year-old midfielder's previous deal was set to expire in 2029, and the new agreement now runs until the summer of 2031.

The Frenchman initially joined on loan in January 2025, and after the Black Cats secured promotion, he was signed permanently from Roma for £19 million, becoming the club's first permanent transfer since their return to the top flight. Last season, he made 40 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals. There were suggestions that Zinedine Zidane would call him up to the extended French squad for upcoming matches, but this ultimately did not happen.

"I'm truly delighted to have signed a new contract with Sunderland. From the moment I arrived, I've felt the passion of the fans and the ambition of everyone at the club – my time here has brought me immense pleasure. We've achieved something special together over the past few seasons, but I believe this is just the beginning. I feel excellent here and I'm excited to continue developing, competing at the highest level, and helping the club move forward. I'm very proud to wear the Sunderland shirt, and I can't wait to see what we'll achieve together in the coming years," Le Fée told the Black Cats' official website.
