But that was all it was. Even though, Lauryn Hill gave a live performance, guests from the event classified it as a lot of things with a particular fan dropping the not-so-edifying tweet below.

1. The show kicked off incredibly late: The promoters of the event promised all who purchased a ticket to the event a commencement time of 7pm. But guests were still outside until 11pm. Four hours after the scheduled time. Lauryn Hill's sound check commenced at 11pm.

2. The star performers of the night were absent: In the buildup to the night, a stellar list of performers for Lauryn Hill Live was announced. The top names on the list included Banky W, Iyanya, 2face Idibia, Sound Sultan, and Seyi Shay. None of them showed. But thank heavens, guests got to watch b and the sonorous Rachel Kerr.

3. DJ Jimmy Jatt did not play at the event. Nigeria's most celebrated disc jockey was part of the list. He appeared at the venue, and was sighted setting up for a set. But he did not get around to performing.

4. Basketmouth also failed to host the event. The comedian made an appearance but did not take to the stage. In place of him, a voice-over was choosen.

5. Lauryn Hill's DJ (who failed to introduce himself) performed in excess of 30 minutes, with fans waiting for the singer to take to the stage.

6. A number of performers were booed off the stage by the agitated crowd. DiL's performed two songs and offered a third,l but the crowd screamed no. Tekno was admirable in his charming style, but got no dancing reaction. He ended his performance by promising guests Lauryn Hill.
