After accepting the accolade, the Blaugrana sensation expressed his pride and gratitude: "I am incredibly happy to receive this award. It's a true honor. I want to thank the Academy, my family, my mother who is at home with my brother, my father, my grandmother, my teammates, and the entire team that always supports me. I also want to congratulate Carlos (Alcaraz). I'm very pleased, and I hope this motivates me to continue on this path. I have a long journey ahead. Have a good evening and thank you very much."

The gala also recognized other prominent sports figures, with tennis star Carlos Alcaraz receiving the Sportsman of the Year award, and football's Toni Kroos being honored with the Laureus Sporting Inspiration Award.
