Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, was a key figure in the inception of the European Super League idea, alongside Real Madrid's Florentino Pérez. The ambitious project ultimately failed, with European clubs withdrawing one after another.

Speaking about the ill-fated competition, the Blaugrana executive clarified that the entire project is now a thing of the past. However, he emphasized that he has no regrets about the initial concept.

"I did what I had to do. I don't regret anything, given the circumstances at the time. However, that chapter is now definitively closed. It's not just closed for Barça. Other clubs have moved on, just as Real Madrid, Juventus, and others immediately followed suit," Laporta stated, among other things.

Regarding his relationship with Florentino Pérez, he commented: "It's a matter of mutual respect. Our interests aligned during the Super League project, which naturally led to more frequent contact. But that changed the moment they intervened in the 'Negreira case'."

Laporta also touched upon the ongoing construction of Barcelona's stadium, outlining the remaining work in three phases: the completion of the third tier, which will include a VIP area, then the stadium's main tier, and finally, the team's museum.
