Spain winger Lamine Yamal shared his thoughts following the team's 2-1 victory over Belgium in the World Cup quarterfinals. Spain, led by Luis de la Fuente, is now set to face France in the next round.
“We are incredibly happy to be in the semifinals once again. We've been here for a while, and we're determined to go all the way. We're savoring this win and our progression to the next stage,” Yamal stated.
“I believe we were significantly stronger than our opponents. Yes, conceding that goal left a strange feeling, especially as it came at a moment when we were completely dominating the game. But that's football. It might seem like we aren't playing the most aesthetically pleasing football, but the reality is that no team has managed to play us as equals,” he added.
“I think if anyone should be afraid, it's France – of us. We eliminated them in the Nations League last year. Of course, it will be a clash between two magnificent teams, two world-class sides. In my opinion, these are the two strongest national teams globally. We'll see what happens, but we have absolutely no fear,” Yamal concluded.
