LaMelo achieved the feat in a 112-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, finishing the night with a stellar 34 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field (6-of-13 from three-point range), along with six rebounds and three assists.
Ball needed just 311 games to join the "1,000 three-pointers club," setting an all-time NBA record. In doing so, he eclipsed Duncan Robinson, who previously held the benchmark at 343 games.
For comparison, the greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry—who leads the NBA in total career three-pointers—sits only sixth on this list. In other words, Ball reached the 1,000-trey milestone in fewer games than Curry did.
As a reminder, LaMelo left the Charlotte Hornets this past summer to join Minnesota, where he teamed up with Anthony Edwards. The pair now form one of the NBA's most lethal backcourts, raising high expectations for the Timberwolves this season.
