South African a capella group undefinedhave been nominated for Best World Music Album in the 2016 Grammy Awards.

Their album “Music From Inala” has been nominated same category with works from the likes of Angelique Kidjo, Anoushka Shankar, Gilberto Gil, and Zomba Prison Project.

The group formed in the 60s, has previously won four Grammys. In 1988 they received their first award. The all male choir won Best Traditional Folk Recording for their album titled “Shaka Zulu”.

It took another 16 years years for them to win another Grammy. In 2004, their “Raise Your Spirit Higher” album won them the award for Best Traditional World Music Album. Their next honour came sooner than the last one. Five years later, 2009 saw them receive a gold plated trophy in the same category for “Ilembe: Honoring Shaka Zulu”.

They were honoured for the first time in the Best World Music Album category in 2013 for their “Live: Singing For Peace Around The World” album.

Three years later the group found 55 years ago by Joseph Shabalala find themselves nominated for the sixteenth time at the prestigious awards.

“Music From Inala” features songs performed by the group in the United Kingdom and Moscow as a section of the theatrical production Inala – A Zulu Ballet. The album features African drums, classical strings percussions, and piano.

The 58th edition of the annual Grammy Awards holds on Monday, February 15, in Los Angeles.
